Covenant Discipline

Christian discipline plays an important part in the development of the child and in the student/staff relationship. Discipline at Covenant is defined as “loving control” and is used for correction, reproof, teaching, & training in righteousness. Our method is best described as a shepherding model based on 2 Timothy 3:16-17.  When the need for discipline arises, each offense will be dealt with according to the Scriptural methods of reproof, correction, teaching, and training in godliness. If necessary, the child will be referred to an administrator and/or a conference may be held with the parents to determine further discipline or the possibility of withdrawal from school. When discipline is necessary, we expect the full cooperation of parents and or guardians. (See Family Handbook for complete discipline policy)

Lunches & Snacks

Parents are to provide lunch (food and beverage) for their children each day either by sending or purchasing lunch through our vendors. Any information about school lunches will be provided when school begins in the fall. A snack is also requested for children in preschool and kindergarten. An extra snack will be required for students staying in the Before and After Program on a regular basis. Milk is available and milk tickets may be purchased in the school office. Information on additional lunch options can be obtained in the office.

Illness

CCS does not have facilities to care for sick children. Students who become ill at school are removed from the classroom and made as comfortable as possible while the parents are being notified and arrangements are made for pick-up. It is important that the school always know where parents can be contacted during the school day. Children must be free of any contagious disease, fever (100°F) without the use of medication to reduce fever, diarrhea, or vomiting for at least 24 hours before being readmitted to CCS or provide a written note, signed by a doctor, stating that the student is not contagious.

Before and After School Program

For our regularly enrolled students (K3 – grade 6), a Before School Program is available from 7:00 AM until 8:20 AM and an After School Program is available for K3 – 6th grade from 12:30 PM until 5:30 PM at a rate of $5.00 per hour per child.  Charges are computed by the quarter hour after the first half hour and are billed each month. The maximum monthly charge for this service is $650 per family. Students on campus during these hours must be escorted by or under the supervision of an adult or else they will be placed in B/A care. (Charges will apply)

School Calendar

CCS observes a calendar year similar to the public schools of Bay County. During the traditional Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break holidays, our school, Preschool and Before and After school programs are closed. Check the school calendar for days closed or when service is available. Class sizes are limited and a seat will not be held until all items on the admissions checklist have been received. Students are considered for enrollment at CCS without discrimination based on race, color, national or ethnic origin.
