The dual enrollment program at Covenant Christian
School provides students the opportunity to enroll in
college courses, while still attending Covenant. The
courses taken at the college level also apply toward
high school and college graduation credits.

Requirements for entering the Dual
Enrollment Program with Gulf Coast Community College:
- The student must have completed the 10th grade
- The student must have a minimum overall GPA of
3.0. (Exception: in cases where a student's GPA falls
below the minimum, the most recent course work will be
evaluated to determine eligibility. Teacher
recommendation may also be required)
Additionally, the student must:
- pass the GCCC Placement Test
- submit a copy of the Placement Test results to the
administration
- submit a signed copy of the Dual Enrollment
Guidelines
- submit a completed copy of the Dual Enrollment
Application
- apply each semester to be considered eligible for
the program
The CCS administration makes the final approval for a
student to enter this program.
General Information
- Dual Enrollment courses will be taken on campus at
Gulf Coast Community College
- The student is required to purchase their own
textbooks from the college bookstore
- The student is required to provide their own
transportation to and from the college
- GCCC courses taken must fit into the student's
Covenant School schedule
- Student's are expected to take courses at
Covenant, if they are offered, because of their
Christian emphasis. (Exceptions may be granted to
student if there are scheduling conflicts) The classes
they are required to take at CCS are the following:
- English I, II & III (They have the option of
taking English IV at CCS or GCCC if they have taken
the required courses.)
- Social Studies - World History, US History,
Government, Economics and Psychology (if offered)
- Science - Physical Science, Biology and
Physiology
- Math - Algebra I, Geometry & Algebra II
- Spanish - I & II
- Bible - All
- Students may take the GCCC Placement Test at any
time for a $4.00 fee. Students wishing to enter the
Dual Enrollment Program, may obtain a letter from
Covenant prior to taking the test for a waiver of this
fee
- At the end of each semester, GCCC will mail
Covenant Christian School copies of the students
grades for cumulative files
- Students are not encouraged to enroll in GCCC
English classes until their Senior year, so they will
not miss the literature that is taught in High School
- Students must obtain the GCCC Enrollment Forms
from the Dual Enrollment Office in the library, fill
them out, obtain their parent's signature, and submit
them at the college within the proper time period.
Signing Covenant's forms for Dual Enrollment each
semester does not exempt the parents from signing
forms required by GCCC
- Students are to submit Dual Enrollment
Applications to Covenant early to allow a 5 working
day evaluation period for acceptance or denial of the
request
- Before registering for classes, students must
obtain a letter from Covenant stating which classes
they are allowed to take at GCCC
- Students attending classes at GCCC are expected to
sign out and sign in from their classes in the
Covenant office. No student is to leave campus without
doing so
Admission into the Dual Enrollment
Program is an honor. Students accepted into the program
are expected to maintain high standards in the following
areas at Covenant and GCCC:
- Academic achievement
- Behavior (attitude and actions): maturity to
positively represent Covenant
- Attire and appearance (NOTE: The dress code at
Covenant is to be followed as the student attends
classes at GCCC)
- Responsibility

of
CSF (Christian Schools of Florida)
and is a
SEVIS participating school.
