The primary purpose of CCS is to provide an educational
environment that recognizes that Christian truth applies
to all aspects of life. Our priority is to offer a
program of academic excellence from a Christian world
and life view in an atmosphere of Godly love and
discipline. We use biblical standards to measure the
role of the teacher, the pupil, the curriculum, the
methods, and the place and objectives of the school in
society. Because we believe in educating the “whole
child,” a very important phase of the program is the
development of the student's social relationships.
Students are guided in the areas of their self-concept,
self-discipline, respect for others, and respect for
authority (God, parents, teachers, government, etc.). As
a Christian school we are directed and corrected in our
overall program by the infallible Word of God.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL
PROGRAM
For our regularly enrolled students (K3 - grade 5), a
Before School Program is available from 7:00 AM until
8:20 AM and an After School Program is available (for
all students) from 12:30 PM until 5:30 PM at a rate of
$4.00 per hour per child. Charges are computed by the
half hour and are billed each month. The maximum charge
for this service is $375 per month for one child. The maximum charge per family is $700.
SCHOOL CALENDAR
CCS observes a calendar year similar to the public
schools of Bay County. During the traditional
Thanksgiving, Christmas and spring break holidays, our
school, pre-school and before and after school programs
are closed. DISCIPLINE
Christian discipline plays an important part in the
development of the child and in the student/staff
relationship. Christian discipline is properly defined
as "loving control" and is used for correction rather
than punishment. Limits are set and rules established
for the benefit of each student as a member of the
group. We firmly believe that enjoyable learning and
constructive activities reduce discipline problems.
When the need for discipline arises, each offense will
be dealt with according to the Scriptural methods of
reproof, denial, or removal from the group ("time out").
If necessary, the child will be referred to an
administrator and/or a conference may be held with the
parents to determine further discipline or the
possibility of withdrawal from school.
MEALS & SNACKS
Parents are to provide lunch (food and beverage) for
their children each day. Any information about school
lunches will be provided after school begins in the
fall. A snack is also requested for children in
preschool and kindergarten. An extra snack will be
required for students staying in the Before- and After
School Program on a regular basis. Milk is available for
purchase. Milk tickets may be purchased in the school
office. Information on additional lunch options can be
obtained in the office.
ILLNESS
CCS does not have facilities to care for sick children.
Students who become ill at school are isolated and made
as comfortable as possible while the parents are being
notified and arrangements are made for pick-up. It is
important that the school always know where parents can
be contacted. Children must be free of any contagious
disease, fever (100°F) without the use of medication to
reduce fever, diarrhea, or vomiting for at least 24
hours before being readmitted to CCS or provide a
written note, signed by a doctor, stating that the
student is not contagious.
SPECIAL IN-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Students have the opportunity to be involved in many
enriching activities at CCS. Some include: art exhibits
and contests, Field Day (athletic competitions), High
School Student Council, Christmas and Easter (spring)
music programs, harvest festival in October, Accelerated
Reader, county-wide spelling bee, Junior and Senior High
Chorus, National Geographic geography bee, book fairs,
"Book-It" reading program, a wide variety of educational
field trips, and weekly chapel. After school, students
